Fiona Brophy. MIACP. BA Psychotherapy and Counselling.  Addiction Studies.

Fiona graduated with a BA in Counselling and Psychotherapy. She holds qualifications from the University of Limerick and St Patrick’s College Maynooth in Drug and Alcohol Studies and as an Accord facilitator, respectively. Fiona has completed a Masters Practitioners Programme in Eating Disorders.   Fiona has worked as an advocate with the Rape Crisis Centre,  facilitator with the Rutland Centre – and a facilitator with Offaly Domestic Violence Support Services . She is trained also in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills (ASIST), Children’s First and in Bereavement support.  She is an accredited member of IACP.

Fiona takes a holistic and integrative approach to all elements of psychotherapy that touches upon all aspects of an individual’s personality. Fiona’s creativity and intuition plays an important role in maintaining the client and therapist relationship, that is the cornerstone to any therapeutic change.

Lorna Heffernan, MIACP.  BA Counselling & Psychotherapy

Lorna is a fully qualified psychotherapist with a B.A. in Psychotherapy and Counselling.  Lorna is an accredited member of the Irish Association of  Counselling and Psychotherapy. When working with clients, she engages a broad range of counselling interventions including the integrative Person Centred Approach, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Systemic and Psychoanalytical. As a result of her clinical work and research, her interests in counselling & psychotherapy involves working with couples with relationship difficulties, addiction, depression, anger, anxiety, grief, relationship issues, childhood trauma and sexual abuse.  She completed training and subsequently worked with the Rutland Centre in the area of Addiction. Lorna has also trained and worked with the Rape Crisis Centre in the area of sexual abuse. Lorna is passionate about the work and her natural empathic nature is helpful in strengthening the client/counsellor relationship which she believes is paramount in order for therapeutic change to occur.  Her own personal experiences of life and loss allowed her the insight and motivation to become a counsellor.  Lorna is committed to continued professional development  on an ongoing basis.

Helen McGrath, BA (Hons) Counselling & Psychotherapy

Helen’s experience of working in a psychiatric hospital in London, together with her subsequent extensive management experience with a large global organisation, where a key part of her role involved mentoring and coaching people in developing their career, prompted her to embark on her career as a counsellor and psychotherapist.  Helen’s holistic approach to counselling facilitates opportunities for clients to explore their feelings in a non-judgemental, and safe environment.  In this therapeutic partnership, Helen facilitates clients as they identify and manage strong feelings such as anger or anxiety that maybe associated with change, grief, loss or trauma.  Helen offers a range of counselling support for grief, loss, relationship problems, depression, stress, workplace issues, motivation, low self-esteem and anxiety.
